farm animals are now....
They have never seemed happier than they are now.

However, this is only seen at the safe but rare habitats in the rural countryside. Most animals are suffering and dying in small cages.  Individuals' trivial diets are driving out millions of animals to death.

According to Food and Agriculture Organization, 450,000,000 animals were killed all over the world in 2005.360,000,000 cows, water buffalos, calves and 1,200,000,000 pigs, 790,000,000 goats and sheep and 42,000,000,000 poultry were killed.

To supply the great need for meat, factory farming is increasing to maximize the economic efficiency. For this, a lot of livestock has to be in the cage where they cannot even move. And they eat toxic feedstuff to be raised and became heavy enough to be killed in a minimal period of time.

Finally they are taken to abattoirs and finish their life on the conveyor belt.

* Pigs are very cute and smart.

They never lose their smiles, and they even can excrete in a designated place. They are always sweet and kind as long as they are not under anyone's control. But pigs are now shut in behind bars. They just get getting heavy enough to go to the abattoir in a short time.

Female pigs especially are raised separately in a special place with small bars. They cannot move their body at all.

When you remember your very tough experience in a jam-packed bus, you will know how painful and terrible their life is in such a small cage under the title of mass production.

Hens are not animals anymore. They are just machines that produce meat and eggs.

Chickens for eggs are tested to know their sex.  If they are males, they are going to be thrown away and die because they cannot lay eggs. (only hens can lay eggs).

When taking a look at the beak of chicken, we can see that it is not very pointed. It is because if they fight too much in a small cage and they will get extremely stressed , they got mad and finally they peck each other's beak. To prevent this, people cut their beaks.

Hens in bare and small cage.....

These animals are not living things anymore but just machines that produce eggs.

Almost all hens that used to play happily in the yards have disappeared. There are hens on the earth that produce meat and eggs. They are just some parts of the machine.

* Eyes of cows waiting to milk in cage.

Cows can normally live 20 years. But their lifespan has been reduced by several years since they are forced to milk and be pregnant by artificial means and do compulsive breeding.

Milk from the cows that lived freely and were impregnated naturally like in the story, Heidi, the girl of the Alps, has disappeared. The milk that we have now is from the cows whose lifespan has decreased and from the cows which are considered as machines that produce milk under painful condition. (their normal life span is shortened by 3 or 5 times)
